A wet basement carpet, a leaking appliance, or a pipe break can make box fans look like the fastest answer. They may move air, but professional drying versus fans is not a contest of which option blows harder. The real question is whether the water has been removed, the humidity is controlled, and the building materials are actually dry - not just dry to the touch.
